چکیده

Pacific whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) cultured worldwide with developments and revolutions in culture ponds like spread polyethylene liner over earthen ponds. The length-weight relationships shrimp, was evaluated (PE) lined from Bhimpore village of Surat district (Gujarat). For this purpose, 500 specimens pond were collected during 2021 their length weight recorded as per the standard methods. noted 11.488-15.581 (13.393±0.035) cm 12.26-31.22 (19.613±0.162) gm study. frequency distribution for group A-23, B-377 C-100. correlation coefficient (r2) 0.633 (A), 0.780 (B), 0.809 (C) 0.906 (pooled) noted. growth constant or regression (b) observed 2.541, 2.812, 3.531 2.997 A, B, C pooled population. depicted that isometric (b=3.0) normal. A mean Fulton's condition factor value 0.808 (±0.002). These findings are clearly indicating studied normal good pond.

Distribution of trace elements in tissues of shrimp species Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) from Bahia, Brazil.

In this study, concentrations of trace elements in tissues of shrimp species (Litopenaeus vannamei) from farming and zone natural coastal located in the northeastern Brazil were investigated. The elements determination was performed by optical emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma (ICP OES). The following ranges of concentrations in the tissues were obtained in µg g-1 dry weight...

Effect of PSP toxins in white leg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei Boone, 1931.

Cultured shrimp are often exposed to different toxic products during rearing practices that may affect survival and quality of the product. An evaluation of the effects of paralytic shellfish toxins (PSP) from species of Gymnodinium catenatum in white leg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) has been carried out in this study. Death was observed at doses > 5.0 MU (equivalent to 1.1 mug/g of STX), whil...

Transcriptomic responses of juvenile Pacific whiteleg shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, to hypoxia and hypercapnic hypoxia.

Estuarine crustaceans are often exposed to low dissolved O2 (hypoxia) accompanied by elevated CO2 (hypercapnia), which lowers water pH. Acclimatory responses to hypoxia have been widely characterized; responses to hypercapnia in combination with hypoxia (hypercapnic hypoxia) are less well known. Here we used oligonucleotide microarrays to characterize changes in global gene expression in the he...

Analysis of multiple tissue-specific cDNA libraries from the Pacific whiteleg shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei.

Multiple small-scale transcriptome studies have been undertaken for various members of the Penaeidae. Penaeid shrimp are important both as members of diverse ecosystems around the world and for their importance as commercial commodities. Of the many shrimps, the most important from this family is the Pacific whiteleg shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, as it is the primary shrimp used in worldwide aq...
